Why it matters

The VIQUA Whole Home UV Water System, in short.

Choose the catalogued 9 GPM VH200 or 18 GPM VH410 UV option. The exact supplied model suffix and certification coverage are awaiting manufacturer confirmation. See the VIQUA spec sheets for model-specific operating conditions.

The complete breakdown

Everything about the VIQUA Whole Home UV Water System — what it targets, how it installs, maintenance and the honest limits.

Read the full breakdown

What this system actually does — and what it does not

Two sizes: Choose the 9 GPM VH200 (CP-WHS-UV-9, $685) or the 18 GPM VH410 (CP-WHS-UV-18, $880) for larger homes. These are standalone system prices. The lamp specifications and replacement parts below describe the VH200; use the correct parts for your selected model.

The exact supplied model suffix is awaiting Sentry confirmation. Cory names “200H and 410” and links both standard VH-series and -V Class B sheets. Those documents do not establish which variant ships with each Sentry SKU.

Model and certification scope

Catalog labels identify VH200 at 9 GPM and VH410 at 18 GPM. These match VIQUA standard-dose flow labels, not the Class B certified flows. We do not claim a particular NSF/ANSI 55 class or microorganism efficacy for the supplied unit until the exact variant and its certificate coverage are confirmed.

See the standard-series specification and the VH200-V / VH410-V / VH410M-V specification. A qualified installer must match the actual model to source-water conditions and required treatment flow.

Maintenance: what it takes to keep this system effective

Annual lamp replacement — this is not optional

UV output from any lamp degrades over time. After roughly a year of continuous operation, the lamp’s output weakens enough that it may no longer deliver a reliable disinfection dose — even though the lamp itself is still glowing. A visually lit lamp is not a working lamp. Replace it on schedule regardless of appearance.

The process is straightforward: power down, swap the lamp, restart. The controller (BA-ICE-CL) monitors the system and will alert you when service is due.

Sleeve cleaning — as needed

The quartz sleeve surrounding the lamp must stay clear for UV light to pass through into the water. Mineral scale and biofilm can accumulate on the sleeve over time and reduce UV transmission. Wipe it clean during each lamp change at minimum; inspect more frequently if your water has high hardness.

Pre-filtration — the non-obvious maintenance lever

Turbid or sediment-laden water is the enemy of UV effectiveness. Any particulate that can shield a pathogen from direct UV exposure undermines the system. If you are on well water or surface-influenced supply, run a sediment pre-filter upstream of the VH200. Keep that pre-filter on its own replacement schedule.

Installation: professional is the right call here

The VH200 installs at the point of entry — meaning it treats all water entering the home before it branches to any fixture. That location is ideal for whole-home protection, and it is also where your home’s main plumbing and electrical supply converge.

Professional installation is recommended. This system requires both plumbing connections (fitting the unit into your main supply line) and a dedicated electrical connection for the 35W lamp and controller. An improperly plumbed point-of-entry install can affect water pressure throughout the house. Get it done right once.

Who this system is for

The VH200 is the right tool if any of the following describes your situation:

  • Private well water — wells have no municipal disinfection backstop; bacteria and cysts from surface runoff, agricultural activity, or septic proximity are real risks
  • Surface-influenced water — water sources that respond to rainfall or runoff events can carry transient microbial contamination
  • Post-filtration microbiological layer — you already have whole-house or well filtration handling chemicals and sediment, and you want a dedicated UV treatment stage on top of it (per VIQUA’s own claims for the model supplied)
  • Immunocompromised household members — cryptosporidium and giardia are disproportionately dangerous for people with weakened immune systems; UV addresses both without chemical additives
  • Boil-water advisory history — if your area has a track record of advisories, a UV system is exactly what those advisories are trying to substitute for

The filter-first rule

If you are pairing the VH200 with a whole-house filtration system, install filtration upstream of the UV unit. Filters remove the turbidity and particulate that would otherwise shade pathogens from the UV lamp. UV then handles what filters cannot: the living microorganisms that pass straight through mechanical and chemical filtration media.

Straight answers

Common questions

Is the VIQUA Whole Home UV Water System right for my home?+

Homes considering a UV accessory selected for their tested water and required flow. Not sure? Our 60-second quiz confirms fit in a minute.

How often do filters need replacing?+

UV lamp ~ annually. Auto-ship on the refill page renews the exact refill every 12 months at 10% off; replace sooner if your usage reaches the rated gallons first.

What if it is not right for me?+

Contact Mountain Pure Water first at (435) 990-3778; we issue the return instructions before you send anything back. Eligible returns may be requested within 30 days after delivery; restocking fees apply. VIQUA accessories have manufacturer-specific warranty terms; see our Shipping, Returns & Refunds policy.

How does UV disinfection work, and does it change my water?+

VIQUA units expose water to UV-C light. Treatment conditions and certification depend on the exact model supplied; see the manufacturer specifications. A model-specific microbial-performance claim is not made here.

How do I handle a return, shipping damage or a warranty claim?+

Contact Mountain Pure Water first at (435) 990-3778 with your order number and details of the issue; include photos for shipping damage. We coordinate the review and issue any return instructions, including the correct destination. Wait for our instructions before sending anything back. Is shipping free?+

Free Ground shipping on every order, contiguous US. No minimum. Shipping is $10 to Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. We ship to US addresses only. See our Shipping, Returns & Refunds policy for details.

What is catalytic-carbon filtration, and how is it different from reverse osmosis?+

Catalytic-carbon filtration uses specially processed activated carbon that reacts with and breaks down contaminants as water passes through multiple stages. Unlike reverse osmosis, our Sentry H2O systems don't strip the water of everything -- they target the bad stuff while leaving naturally occurring beneficial minerals in place. The non-RO city filtration stages produce no RO reject-water waste.

Does the system need electricity or produce wastewater?+

Our non-RO city filtration stages run on water pressure and produce no RO reject-water waste. UV accessories require power. Well treatment may produce waste or backwash water; requirements depend on the selected configuration.

H2O Whole House Water System Positive Review

The installation, setup and questions answered by Sentry’s qualified installer went seamlessly. We noticed a big difference in the look of our ice cubes, were totally solid looking instead of almost see through. Nelson and his son were very knowledgeable in the quality of water we have now. We are very impressed with them both and our new water.
