Built for demanding properties
Whole-Property Water Filtration
Some properties just run harder — ranches, barns, big families, well water. Sentry H2O whole-property systems bring heavy-duty, high-flow filtration to the water your home and animals depend on.
Who it’s for
Ranches & barns
High-flow filtration for stalls, wash bays and the house, so animals and people drink the same clean water.
Well-water homes
Purpose-built for iron, sulfur and the variable quality wells throw at you.
Hard-working homes
Big families and heavy use need media sized for the demand — not a token cartridge.
Whole-property sizing depends on flow rate and source. Animal-health guidance is general, not veterinary advice.

Property-scale buyer's guide
Start with a water test
On a well, nothing else should come first. CDC recommends testing a private well at least once a year for total coliform bacteria, nitrates, total dissolved solids and pH, using a state-certified laboratory, and testing again if the water's color, taste or smell changes (CDC guidelines for testing well water).
The Sentry H2O Whole Home for Wells builds the test into the order: a complimentary lab test kit ships first, or you can share a current lab report, and Sentry H2O selects the media and equipment size from the results. Our Science page shows how we present lab data, limits included.
Options by property type
| Your property | Where to start | Why |
|---|---|---|
| A home on a private well | Sentry H2O Whole Home for Wells | Media and size set from your lab results |
| A high-demand home on city water | Sentry H2O Whole Home | One tank treats the whole house; the manufacturer rates its capacity at a minimum of 300,000 gallons |
| A barn hose, trough, trailer or field site | Sentry H2O Portable System | Garden-hose fittings, no power and no drain; a Standard or Premium filter set |
| Microbial concerns on any of these | VIQUA Whole Home UV | A UV stage sized to the flow; the exact supplied model is still being confirmed with the manufacturer |
What these systems treat
For wells, Sentry H2O picks a formula from your results. The current formulas target iron and manganese; nitrates plus iron and manganese; or arsenic and uranium, common groundwater contaminants in the western U.S. One well can call for more than one. Our well water 101 guide explains what each looks and smells like at the tap.
Two limits are worth saying plainly. The filtration media is not a disinfection step, so microbial concerns call for the UV add-on or other treatment, and the exact VIQUA model and its certificate coverage are still being confirmed with the manufacturer. And we don't publish removal percentages for the well system, because each one is configured for a different water.
Sizing, installation and service
The manufacturer lists a maximum flow of 9 gallons per minute per tank, and for homes with 5 or more people the 18 GPM UV option runs two systems in parallel. On a well, equipment size comes from the lab results, and some water goes to drain depending on the configuration, so ask your installer about a drain connection. Whole-home systems call for professional installation on the main line, indoors and protected from freezing; UV units need power and a new lamp every year. A portable filter set lasts 3,000 gallons or 12 months, whichever comes first, so a barn that draws heavily changes sets sooner than a weekend camper. Sentry H2O hardware carries a one-year warranty with lifetime support.

We installed the system about 3 weeks ago and have seen changes in the water spots on our shower doors, spot free dishes coming out of the dishwasher, and the best tasting water ever. So far very happy with our new water system!!

H2O Whole House Water System Positive Review
The installation, setup and questions answered by Sentry’s qualified installer went seamlessly. We noticed a big difference in the look of our ice cubes, were totally solid looking instead of almost see through. Nelson and his son were very knowledgeable in the quality of water we have now. We are very impressed with them both and our new water.

Works great
I had a plumber reinstall this and it has worked perfectly.
Review of SENTRY PORTABLE SYSTEM
No More Filling Carboys!
My husband and I have now purchased 2 Sentry filtration systems… one (home) under-the-sink kitchen mount and one portable for our RV. We’d spend the last couple of years filling 5 gallon carboys with drinking/cooking water as the municipal source is unacceptable, so this has proven to be a great solution for us and such peace of mind!
Frequently asked questions
Should I test my well water before choosing a system?+
Yes. The whole-home well order starts with a complimentary lab water test, or a current lab report you already have, and Sentry H2O selects the media and size from the results. CDC separately recommends testing a private well at least once a year for total coliform bacteria, nitrates, total dissolved solids and pH.
What about bacteria in well water?+
Treat it as its own problem. We do not present the filtration media as a disinfection step. The optional VIQUA UV unit is the add-on for microbial concerns, and its exact model and certificate coverage are still being confirmed with the manufacturer, so read the VIQUA spec sheet for its operating conditions. If a test finds coliform bacteria, follow your local health department's guidance.
How often do filters change on a ranch property?+
It depends on the equipment. The under-sink filters included with a whole-home system change at 3,000 gallons or 1 year, whichever comes first. A portable system's installed filter set changes at 12 months or 3,000 gallons, whichever comes first. A VIQUA UV lamp is replaced every year. The well tank schedule is confirmed with your final configuration.
Can one system serve a house and a barn?+
It depends on your plumbing. A whole-home system treats the water entering the house at its main line, so a barn fed by a separate line does not get that treated water. For a barn hose or trough, the portable system connects with standard garden-hose fittings. Call us at (435) 990-3778 with your layout and we will talk it through.
